Use directional keys (up, down, left, right) or WASD to navigate the world. You may interact with differently-colored objects by walking into them. You can progress through dialogue and descriptions a bit faster by tapping the directional key if you like. Some objects/characters have more than one thing to say, so feel free to interact with them a few times.

Sojourn is also playable on mobile devices (despite what the page may tell you!). Swipe to move the character in the same way as described above. Please note that audio is unfortunately not supported on mobile at this time.

Sojourn was made by Albertine Watson for the Ghost #bitsyjam in the Bitsy game engine. It uses Borksy by Andrew Yolland, including Exit From Dialogue by @mildmojo and Bitsymuse by David Mowatt. All music by Alec Holowka of Infinite Ammo. Alec also oversaw the development of this game and helped with playtesting and bug fixes as well.

Additional thank yous to the BitsyOracle, Brenna Blackman, and Chris Pointon for troubleshooting, playtesting, and support. If you have any questions about the game, feel free to say hello here or on Twitter @littlebluerobot.

Thank you very much for playing <3

Please note: Game audio does not work in the Safari browser. My apologies :(

Good game

But I am not able to open locked room

What I am missing? I have reached all possible objects 😕

Hey hey, thank you! I'm sorry to hear you've had some trouble with this :( You may notice there are some "visitors" in Em's home. You'll need to track down and speak to all the visitors (hint: these visitors are not her family pets) in order to unlock the door upstairs and proceed through the story. There are five visitors. You can see all of them but one, who is somewhat hidden! Let me know if you still encounter issues. <3 Thank you!

Wow! So bleak but beautiful! I teared up too.

Thank you very much :3

A very sad but sweet tale. There were lots of small details and pieces that came together to make the story feel so full, even though the game is made in such a minimalistic style!

Great game!
